1.0 FTE -- Auto Mechanic / Probationary / Full-time / 12 month / Civil Service Non-Competitive
INITIAL ASSIGNMENT:
Transportation Department / 8.0 hrs/day - 5 days/week / Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:30pm
APPOINTMENT: ASAP
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a valid Commercial Drivers License - Class B with
Passenger (P) & (S) endorsements issued by the State of New York
at the time of appointment.
Preferred - New York State Heavy Vehicle Inspection License
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be a least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Graduation from high school or vocational school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of experience as a journey man automotive mechanic; or
  • Seven (7) years of experience as a journeyman automotive mechanic; or
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b).

GENERAL DUTIES: Vehicle Maintenance and repairs for District Vehicles and Equipment.
HOURLY RATE: $35.25 per hour
