Job description

Job Summary - Mobile Locksmith Technician - Cincinnati, OH
We are seeking a customer focused, technically skilled Mobile Locksmith Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will partner with an Automotive Mobile Sales Representative while operating a fully equipped mobile van to deliver auto key duplication and locksmith services to customers. You will serve as the face of our mobile operation ensuring exceptional service, high quality workmanship, and a best-in-class customer experience.
*This position pays $25/ hour plus 5% commission on sales and includes a company van and fuel card for business use. Typical hours are 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, Thursday-Monday or Friday-Tuesday, with weekends required. Schedule and hours may vary based on business needs. Travel to one store per day within a 50-mile radius is required.
Essential Job Functions *
  • Partner with the Automotive Mobile Sales Representative to deliver mobile locksmith solutions using a company-provided service van.
  • Assist customers with automotive locksmith needs, including but not limited to key cutting and key fob programming or cloning.
  • Operate and maintain your mobile "store," setting the standard for future mobile locksmith operations.
  • Manage inventory levels, coordinate customer meetings, and keep the mobile van clean and in showroom condition.
  • Collaborate with leadership to share ideas, improve processes, and support mobile program excellence.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring every interaction reflects professionalism and care.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED (some college preferred).
  • Experience in locksmithing, automotive services, retail, or other customer-facing technical roles is preferred.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Locksmith License, which may require passing an FBI background check.
  • Experience with a variety of aftermarket key programmers.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Competencies - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of different OEM transponder systems & keys
  • Knowledge of OEM subscriptions & J234 Passthru (Not mandatory, but good to have)
  • Knowledge & experience using & maintaining electronic and manual key cutting machines & equipment
  • Proficient using mobile apps, email, and basic computer tools.
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, or holidays as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and develop new technical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with above-average technical/mechanical aptitude.
  • Highly trustworthy, reliable, patient, and detail-oriented.

Operational Equipment
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, more occasionally
  • Operate a motor vehicle

Sales/Service: Environment varies due to location/store set-up. May be exposed to cramped quarters, dust, fumes, or odors. Travel required daily. May have to drive 200 miles daily. Hand/eye coordination required. Function vision and hearing required.

Sales/Service: Medium, lifting up to 30 lbs., occassionally pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
