Role : Business Analyst - Auto Insurance
Location : Philadelphia, PA ( Hybrid Mode )
Job Summary:
Must Skills : Commercial Casualty lines such as General Liability (GL), Workers' Comp, EPLI, or Commercial Property experience with large commercial claims, liability claims, or casualty-specific claims processing
We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong experience in Auto Insurance to bridge business needs and technology solutions. The BA will work closely with underwriting, claims, product, actuarial, and IT teams to analyze processes, define requirements, and support the delivery of high-quality insurance solutions across policy lifecycle systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements related to auto insurance products, including policy administration, underwriting, rating, billing, and claims
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand regulatory, operational, and customer needs
  • Translate business requirements into functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Support system enhancements, new product launches, and process improvements
  • Analyze current-state vs. future-state processes and identify gaps and efficiencies
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement review sessions
  • Work closely with developers, QA, and product owners during the SDLC
  • Assist with UAT planning and execution, including test case review and defect triage
  • Ensure solutions comply with insurance regulations and internal standards
  • Maintain clear documentation such as BRDs, FRDs, process flows, and data mappings
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 12 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in Auto Insurance
  • Strong understanding of auto insurance concepts (coverage, rating factors, endorsements, claims workflow)
  • Experience with policy administration and/or claims systems
  • Proficiency in requirement-gathering techniques and documentation
  • Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall environments
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with insurance platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar)
  • Familiarity with state insurance regulations and compliance requirements
  • SQL or data analysis experience
  • CBAP, CCBA, or similar BA certification
