Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
โ€ข 10+ years of SAP experience with strong hands-on expertise in SAP MDG Finance.
โ€ข Experience in SAP S/4HANA Finance and ECC FI/CO.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of:
โ€ข Finance master data structures
โ€ข SAP MDG architecture
โ€ข BRF+, Workflow, DRF
โ€ข At least 2 end-to-end SAP MDG implementations (Green field)and support experience.
โ€ข Strong understanding of data governance principles.
Roles & Responsibilities
The SAP MDG Finance Functional Consultant is responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting SAP Master Data Governance (MDG-F) solutions for Finance master data objects. The role ensures data governance, data quality, compliance, and harmonization of finance master data across SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and integrated systems.
Key Responsibilities
SAP MDG Finance Configuration & Design
โ€ข Design, configure, and support SAP MDG-F for Finance master data objects:
o Chart of Accounts
o GL Accounts
o Cost Centers
o Profit Centers
o Company Codes
โ€ข Configure MDG data models, change request types, workflows, derivations, and validations for Finance objects.
โ€ข Implement and manage rule-based workflows using BRF+.
Data Governance & Quality
โ€ข Define and enforce Finance data governance policies, standards, and approval processes.
โ€ข Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across finance domains.
โ€ข Analyze and resolve MDG workflow errors, validation issues, and replication failures.
Integration & Replication
โ€ข Configure and support data replication from MDG to:
o SAP S/4HANA Finance
o SAP ECC
o Central Finance (CFIN)
o Non-SAP systems (where applicable)
โ€ข Work with DRF, IDoc, SOA services, and CPI/PI/PO for Finance master data replication.
โ€ข Support reconciliation and error handling using AIF (if applicable).
Business Collaboration
โ€ข Conduct finance master data workshops with Finance, Controlling, and Audit stakeholders.
โ€ข Translate business requirements into functional design documents (FSDs).
โ€ข Collaborate with ABAP, MDG Technical, Basis, Security, and Data Migration teams.
Testing, Cutover & Support
โ€ข Sup port SIT, UAT, cutover, and go-live activities.
โ€ข Prepare test scripts, training materials, and user documentation.
โ€ข Provide postgo-live support and continuous improvement.
โ€ข Experience with SAP Central Finance (CFIN).
โ€ข Exposure to S/4HANA migration or ECC S/4HANA programs.
โ€ข Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, SOX compliance (client-dependent).
โ€ข SAP MDG or S/4HANA Finance certification
Generic Managerial Skills, If any
