Job description

Testing Psychologist w/ Focus in Autism Evaluation

Psychological Testing with a Focus on Autism Plus ADHD, LD & Social-Emotional Evaluation

Lumiere Children's Therapy  is seeking applications for a Psychologist.  The focus of this position is to provide psychological evaluations and diagnosis of autism, with a small amount of ADHD, Learning Disorder, Trauma, and other social-emotional issues to children and adults.

You will provide diagnostic autism evaluations for clients 24-months old through adulthood. 

Applicant Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an APA-accredited PhD or PsyD degree program in psychology
  • Obtained licensure in Illinois
  • Experience with and understanding of early child development
  • Completed clinical ADOS-2 training and obtained certification to administer ADOS-2
  • Recent (within past 6 months) experience providing multiple testing measures including cognitive, or development assessment measures, Such as the WISC-V, WAIS-IV, WJ-IV, Mullen Scales of Early Learning
  • Focused study and/or clinical experience with autistic individuals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training in the following additional assessment measures: ABAS-3, SRS-2, Mullen Scales of Early Learning, CPT-3, CATA, K-CPT, CVLT-3, Stroop Test, Woodcock Johnson Tests of Achievement

Skills required evaluation process, including:

  • Identification of symptoms and symptom categories
  • Collection of background information
  • Considerations for differential diagnoses
  • Selecting test measures that are age-appropriate and relevant to the specific inquiry
  • Test administration and data collection
  • Scoring, interpreting, and analyzing data
  • Diagnosis formulation
  • Formulating and customizing specific treatment recommendations
  • Writing comprehensive psychological reports
  • Providing feedback to client and/or family
  • Hand-off to treatment providers

Additional services and duties may include:

  • ADHD evaluation (ages 6 through adulthood)
  • Specific Learning Disorder evaluation (ages 6 through adulthood)
  • Outreach & partnership management of treatment providers in the autism community
  • Contribution and organization of autism resource page

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete evaluations 
  • Communicate with clients’ family members and previous/ongoing treatment providers to gain data for evaluations
  • Coordinate care with and hand-off to treatment providers for future care (ABA therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, play therapists, psychiatrists, mental health therapists, etc.)
  • Create, update, and maintain documentation, note-taking, and additional administrative duties as needed
