Job Summary:

We are seeking a mid to senior-level AV Technician to join our Edmonton team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing audiovisual systems in conference rooms, classrooms, and other meeting environments. In addition to installation, you will troubleshoot systems, load programs, and set up AV equipment.You will work closely with AV programmers to configure, test, and commission systems, ensuring optimal performance and functionality. The role also involves mentoring junior installers and collaborating with the team to deliver projects efficiently and to a high standard. Candidates with prior AV Technician experience are encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review Bill of Materials, Drawings, Project Scope and prepare for site activities
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Perform comprehensive, onsite audio-visual installation including low voltage wiring, rack setup, projector and screen installations, speakers and control systems.
  • Perform cable pulls, solder, crimp and terminate audio, video and network cables
  • Perform complex installations (anchoring, cable mounts, uni-strut)
  • Maintain daily communication with Scheduler, Installation Manager and Account Managers on status of project and task lists
  • Troubleshoot AV issues and provide solutions
  • Willing to work out of town, overnight travel may be required from time to time

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work and think independently and work under tight deadlines
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems and signal flow for audio, video and control
  • Troubleshooting, quality checks, servicing abilities, problem solving abilities
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Willing to mentor Junior level installers


Education and/or Experience:

  • Ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years of audiovisual integration experience
  • Post-secondary education in Electronics, Broadcasting, or a relevant field is preferred
  • Crestron/Extron/AMX programming/configuration experience preferred
  • Avixa CTS orCTS-I Certification
  • Industry recognized training: Crestron, Biamp, Extron, QSC, Dante

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work on ladders and lifts
  • Trade certifications: WHMIS, fall arrest, scissor lift and other safety Certifications
