Job Description

The Manager, Technical Audio/Video is responsible for managing, defining, developing, and maintaining all audio/video systems of assigned Entertainment projects of various scale, including marquee events (Fan Fest Nights, Halloween Horror Nights, Grinchmas, Grad Bash, eVe, etc.), daily park entertainment, placemaking efforts, and other special projects.  Interfaces and partners with the Technical, Creative, Project and Events teams on driving the production process forward, achieving all scope, financial, and process-based goals.

  • Manage Audio/Video Technical team's personnel, scope, budget and development.
  • Manage scheduling of Audio Video design, installation, operations and strike in unification with our department partners.
  • Oversee Audio/Video system design process, supporting the development of 30/60/90% packages and navigating integration of elements with technical teams and other design areas.
  • Oversee all Audio/Video technical designs and installations across all Entertainment projects and initiatives.
  • Manage relationships and coordinate between Entertainment Creative Development group and Audio Video Technical group.
  • Manage the development, organization, and distribution of workflows between the Entertainment Technical groups and Technical Services department on project focuses, ensuring streamlined communication and scheduling. Maintain and build successful partnership with management teams.
  • Manage departmental communication and interaction, to include initiating processes which facilitate improvements and efficiencies.
  • Provide onsite management support of Audio/Video staff. This includes Entertainment Technical, Audio Mixers, A/V Production Coordinators, Vendors, and Consultants.
  • Drive Research and Development of A/V equipment, staying pace (and ahead) of industry technology and standards.
  • Manage use of A/V facilities and inventory at both the Entertainment Production Center and USH.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary range: $$80,000.- $110,000 (Bonus eligible) 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Theatrical Production or minimum 5 years in a related field, with emphasis in audio/video system design and/or implementation.
  • Extensive theme park experience in technical audio/video production for live theatrical entertainment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organization skills, including in a personnel management capacity.
  • Expert classification in advanced audio, video and control systems such as Q-SYS, Alcorn-McBride and Dante networking, etc.
  • Superior knowledge in AV equipment such as Yamaha/Allen & Heath audio consoles, amplifier distribution, high-level speaker systems and video walls.
  • Expert ability to troubleshoot AV system issues in high stress environments.
  • Proactive management skills to guide, delegate and provide on-site knowledge and support to specialized technicians.
  • Ability to navigate and function productively interdepartmentally on high level projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, with confidence to multi-task and delegate as required.
  • Ability to achieve results through the flawless execution of strategies and process.
  • Ability to identify and communicate creative solutions to challenges, and to maintain a consistent focus on priorities with persistent follow-through.
  • Confidence to effectively communicate across all lines of business, and with all levels of management.
