Job description

Position Summary
This job is ideal for those who want to combine their excitement for sporting and live events with audio engineering. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a group of close-knit, passionate, and talented teammates that serve a wide range of customers including internal associates, major and private events, and fans. If you enjoy collaborating closely with others to serve the business and address opportunities, this role is for you.
The Senior Audio Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of all in-venue audio systems supporting Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, NWSL Atlanta (2028), College Football, concerts, and private events. This role focuses on system upkeep, break/fix response, infrastructure optimization, and operational readiness, ensuring audio systems are consistently event-ready and low-risk.
The Senior Audio Engineer works closely with Stadium Production, Engineering, IT, and external vendors to maintain and improve audio environments, reduce downtime, simplify workflows, and ensure successful outcomes for stakeholders, operators, and events. Occasional support for operator training or mixing assistance may be required, but live event mixing is not a primary responsibility.
The position will primarily be based in Atlanta, GA at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium but will also work from other locations around metro Atlanta as needed. Must be able to carry a cell phone and respond quickly to occasional requests for critical assistance. Working events at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be required, which includes a variety of weekends, holidays and days/nights. Some occasional travel may be required.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot stadium audio systems including PA systems, amplifiers, DSP platforms, control software, and speakers.
  • Act as technical owner for stadium audio systems including PA, DSP, amplifiers, control software, and networked audio.
  • Lead preventative maintenance programs and advanced break/fix response.
  • Support event readiness by verifying system configuration based on event layouts and usage.
  • Continuously improve audio environments and workflows to reduce risk, minimize downtime, simplify operations, and ensure successful events.
  • Identify system weaknesses and design short-term solutions that lead to long-term solutions.
  • Maintain and optimize Dante-based audio networks and DSP platforms.
  • Support SMAART / SPL systems, measurement workflows, and data integrity.
  • Lead vendor coordination for system upgrades, maintenance, commissioning, and major refresh projects.
  • Maintain and enforce documentation standards, signal flow diagrams, and system configurations.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff and part-time operators, promoting best practices in system use, maintenance, and operational consistency.
  • Support audio system refresh initiatives by contributing technical input, operational requirements, and system evaluation during planning and execution phases.
  • Partner in capital expense planning by identifying infrastructure needs, lifecycle replacements, and improvement opportunities aligned with long-term system reliability and performance.
  • Provide occasional support for operator training or limited mixing assistance (not primary).
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to aid and continuously improve broadcast and A/V operations.
  • Review guest-submitted verbatims and feedback to identify actionable opportunities to improve audio quality, coverage, and overall event experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional audio engineering experience in stadiums, arenas, or large-scale live event venues.
  • Deep expertise in audio theory, PA systems, DSP platforms (Q-SYS, Audio Architect), amplifiers, and networked audio.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to independently own systems and drive technical initiatives.
  • Yamaha digital mixer experience (QL, CL, DM, or similar).
  • Dante certification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience with SMAART or SPL measurement systems.
  • Prior involvement in large-scale system upgrades or PA refresh projects.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in area.
