Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Home Technology Installer & Project Manager to lead residential audio, video, networking, smart home, and CCTV projects from pre-wire through final commissioning. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who is ready to take ownership of projects, lead field teams, interface with clients and builders, and ensure exceptional execution and customer satisfaction.
This is a hands-on leadership role — you will both manage projects and actively participate in installation and system configuration.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
  • Lead residential AV, smart home, networking, and surveillance projects from kickoff to completion
  • Review proposals, plans, and scope of work to ensure accurate execution
  • Coordinate with homeowners, builders, electricians, and other trades
  • Manage job timelines, labor allocation, and material procurement
  • Conduct site walks and progress meetings
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to company standards
Installation & Technical Execution
  • Perform and oversee pre-wiring, trim-out, and final installation
  • Install and configure:
    • Distributed audio systems (e.g., Sonos, Control4, etc.)
    • Home theaters and media rooms
    • TV mounting and structured wiring
    • Networking equipment (routers, switches, access points)
    • CCTV systems (IP cameras, NVRs, remote access setup)
    • Smart home systems (lighting control, automation, water monitoring, etc.)
  • Terminate, label, and test low-voltage wiring
  • Rack build-out and clean cable management
  • System programming and client handoff
Leadership & Client Experience
  • Supervise and mentor junior technicians
  • Maintain high installation standards and jobsite cleanliness
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients
  • Conduct system walkthroughs and training at project completion
  • Support service department with escalated troubleshooting when needed
Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in residential AV, low-voltage, or smart home installation
  • Proven experience managing projects and leading teams
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Home networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, WiFi optimization)
    • Distributed audio/video systems
    • CCTV systems and remote access configuration
    • Structured wiring best practices
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring schematics
  • Clean, organized rack-building and cable management skills
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Certifications (not required but a plus):

  • Control4, Savant, or Crestron certification
  • Networking certifications (Ubiquiti, Araknis, Cisco, etc.)
