Salary: 40-45/hour DOE

ELECTRONIC ENVIRONMENTShas been an A/V industry pioneer and leader for over 35 years. We enjoy making technology fun and convenient for our clients. Electronic Environments offers a fast paced, fun environment where we deliver projects for customized home automation solutions including distributed entertainment systems, lighting controls, motorized shading, HVAC systems, access controls and IT infrastructure.


We are currently looking for an experienced Lead Technician in our NYCoffice. Our ideal candidate should possess 5+ years of AV installation and integration experience.


Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Teach, mentor, and guide field technicians and junior technicians to successfully install and commission AV home integration systems.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and lead installations for AV control systems including but not limited to:
    • Wire ring out.
    • Wire management, trimming, proper wire labeling standards, and termination including: RG6, Fiber, Cat6, Cat6A RJ-45 Compression, Solder, etc.
    • Lighting Keypads and touch panel installations.
    • Programing of URC remotes.
    • TV brackets and other mechanical display support devices.
    • Physical installation of control system components: racks, TVs, speakers, video walls, projectors, and other equipment.
  • Document status reports, procedures, and updates to the project within project software. Provide daily updates to project team in applicable platform.
  • Verify task list from daily punch list at the project site, follow in accordance with project timeline and expectations.
  • Work alongside other project team members to setup and test AV signal flows, equipment functionality, and programming.
  • Communicate with project manager and project stakeholders providing any changes required due to construction restraints or other issues that arise.
  • Professionally interact with external stakeholders including but not limited to general contractors, architects, client staff, and clients. Connect with the project manager on any requests from external stakeholders.
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing of systems during installation phases. Report, document, and resolve issues as applicable.
  • Load programming and train clients in system use with completion of a project.
  • On-call weekend rotation is required.


Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of:
    • Audio & Video distribution concepts and equipment (HDMI, Dante audio)
    • IR, RS-232, and Network control protocols & communication.
    • Networking standards including, but not limited to, VPN connections & port forwarding concepts.
    • Savant, Creston and/or Control4 control systems.
    • Lutron lighting & shade systems.
    • HVAC and thermostat functionality.
  • Comfortable interacting with VIP clientele in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of product lines including Crestron, Savant, Sonos, Lutron, Snapav, Access Networks, Sonance, Bluebolt, Future Automation, and Seura.
  • Working knowledge of Crestron Toolbox, Savant, Dyn, DNS, etc.
  • Ability to lift, move, and push 50 lbs.
  • Required to stand, walk, climb, sit, and use hands and fingers.
  • OSHA 40 and applicable SST certification required. (or able to obtain with 6 months of employment)
  • Valid drivers license preferred.
