Software Engineer 
 
Kelly® Engineering is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for a direct-hire position with an avionics manufacturer located south of Miami, FL. If you are passionate about shaping the world we live in and are ready to reengineer your future, trust the experts at hiring experts.

$110,000-130,000
 
Overview 
 
Our client is a manufacturer of custom avionic controls. They’ve been in business for 80 years and have production onsite. This provides their customers with rapid design to production. Their employees are well tenured, which is attributed to their fantastic work culture.
 
In this role you’ll be an individual contributor, participating in the planning, analysis, design, development, and verification of software projects used in a commercial aircraft environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of software for avionic equipment through design, debug and documentation of assembly language and high-level software at the project level. 
  • Support the development of entry?level software professionals through guidance, mentorship, and technical support as needed.
  • Work with project engineers, as well as other software staff, in the determination of software/hardware partitioning of one or more ongoing projects. 
  • Provide technical guidance and suggestions, where necessary, to other software and hardware staff as development of various projects continues. 
  • Specify requirements, and implement software according to those requirements, to be utilized in products and in?house required equipment. 
  • Participate in the software verification process for software of own design and that of other software engineers. 
  • Generate documentation for all developed software in accordance with current procedures and standards. 
  • Assist fellow engineering colleagues with the isolation and rectification of problems reported by customers following product release.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience in the development and maintenance of high level and structured assembly language software that should include:
    • 2+ years developing code in C/C++ used to control the function of tangible electronic products, required
    • Reading schematics
    • Trouble shooting hardware
  • Familiar with DO-178B or DO-178C software development process is a plus
  • Comfortable working in a highly regulated environment with strict documentation requirements
  • Able to collaborate within a team environment
  • Any of the following Digital Signal Processing familiarity is a plus:
    • DSP algorithms (FIR, IIR, Tone Detection)
    • DSP techniques applied to audio
    • Audio CODECs
    • Analog Devices Inc family of processors
    • Any DSP SW development tools
