ADVERTISING TITLE: Systems Project Analyst

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central office in the Office of Information Technology.

The Office of Information Technology at the Florida Department of Corrections provides innovative and reliable technology solutions to support department operations and enhance public safety. It manages IT infrastructure, ensures data security, and delivers efficient services to improve efficiency, decision-making, and collaboration.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES: 

  • Provides independent support of Windows based stationary and portable systems and their peripherals, on a day-to-day basis, including during times of On-Call work for Emergency Situations.
  • Analyzes, tests, and maintains new and existing Windows based systems, printers, scanners, monitors, external drives, cell phones, and all other FDC approved devices for end users.
  • Troubleshoots and conducts analysis of issues pertaining to end user devices and applications. Determine the best approach to process, store, and retrieve information. Performs as a Team Lead and assists other technicians with analyzing and repairing end user issues with hardware and software.  Develops processes for installation and repair of systems. Assists with the installation of computer programs, components, peripheral devices, and/or system software.
  • Writes documentation for applications, installations, and system repairs for other technicians. This includes developing diagrams, flowcharts, Use Cases, workflows, etc. Assists users with writing application documentation to be used as training documents for end users.
  • Assists in training users on new and existing applications and hardware. Assists with troubleshooting application and hardware problems and answering user-related help calls.
  • Assists in the evaluation of new technology products and makes recommendation on technology standards for multiple hardware and operating system platforms. Assists in complex analysis, conducting studies, and designing technology solutions involving multiple hardware, software, and network platforms. Evaluates and recommends software or custom-written applications when requested.
  • Prepares system plans, reports on recommendations, and information technology requirement specifications as requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of accounting programs installation, support, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Dell Computing Systems, Cannon & Kodak scanners, Konica printers, check scanners and software, banking
  • software, FLAIR configuration and support, iWay software, and eAgent.
  • Ability to analyze and repair issues with Android and Apple phones.
  • Ability to analyze and repair end user issues with wired and wireless networks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED, plus either an Information Systems Degree, Information Systems Coursework in progress, or Information Systems Technical Certifications.
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience as either an employee, contract staff augmentation, or combined supporting desktop computer equipment in a Correctional Environment (Proof required).
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Must be able to work on call, if needed, including during times of Emergencies or Disasters.
  • Must be able to work a 40-hour shift in an office cubicle environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds multiple times.
  • Completed an Information Systems Degree, Information Systems Coursework, or Information Systems Technical Certifications such as Comptia A+ Certification.
  • Experienced with VoIP systems, especially Avaya VoIP.
  • Utilized any software for tracking Information Systems work, such as Cherwell, Service Now, or other IT related tracking systems.

Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
