Audio/Electrical Engineer

Position Summary:  

Develop and support all aspects of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) audio performance including microphone, speaker and enclosure performance across all products and accessories. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Capture end-user and market-based requirements to help generate suitable solutions.

• Set up and improve audio testing capabilities and performance.

• Prepare concept design of audio systems for portable, mobile, and base station equipment and related accessories.

• Work closely with the hardware team to provide design feedback based on circuit requirements and user requirements.

• Work closely with the teams (internal and external) to mature the audio solutions and testing across the portfolio including noise reduction, acoustic performance, audio accessories and EOL activities that consistently meet the requirements.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Solid knowledge in audio design

• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.

• Good analytical skills.

• Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized.

• Ability to work under pressure, on multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong computer skills including Excel, Word and Power Point required

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Education: Minimum Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.

• Experience: 2-5 years of Electrical Engineering design experience and 3 years of Research and Development experience.

• Requires understanding of advanced Engineering concepts including materials, components and development software.

Other:

• Position may require travel to partner, supplier or customer sites.

• Environmental conditions include noise, vibration, oils, solvents, chemicals.
