Who You'll Work With:

Private Alternatives Infrastructure is responsible for delivering technology & operations designed to enable revenue growth, drive efficiency, and mitigate risk for the Private Alternatives business channel. Private Alternatives investment strategies include Private Credit, US/European Real Estate Debt, Private Placements, and other private market strategies. Critical functions within Private Alternative Infrastructure include Investment & Fund Operations, Product Implementation, Business Analysis, Project Management, 3rd Party Vendor Integration & Management, and Infrastructure Technology Buildout. The Private Alternative Infrastructure Department collaborates closely with business unit heads across the Firm to develop plans in line with business objectives.

What You'll Do:

We are seeking a Nashville-based Business Analyst to join our Private Alternatives Infrastructure team.

The Business Analyst will partner closely with multiple private alternative business units and technology & operations teams to define, design and oversee the implementation of best-in-class, technology solutions to solve complex alternative investment business problems. The Business Analyst will build strong relationships with subject matter experts in Commercial Real Estate, Private Credit, Private Equity and Private Placements, translating business needs into technical requirements and designs and liaising with third-party application teams and in-house developers to bring solutions to life.

  • Proactively oversee third-party technology vendor relationships for deal pipeline, investment reporting and portfolio management applications - including enhancement queue management and system bug tracking.
  • Manage multi-functional, complex projects in a fast-paced environment including systems implementations, process design / automation initiatives, application development and reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Provide white-glove support for third-party and internal applications including production troubleshooting, testing and data management.
  • Govern stakeholder engagement with concise, predictable communication to keep stakeholders invested in the solution development process, from the inception of a stakeholder priority through solution delivery.
  • Produce clear, high quality and detailed collateral supporting the solutions development process including user stories, technical business requirements, mock-ups, functional prototypes, and solution documentation.
  • Participate in the agile-like development process by proficiently liaising between stakeholders and the in-house software developers throughout a collaborative solutions development process.
  • Design thorough quality assurance (QA) testing plans for ensuring the reliability and integrity of solutions.
  • Leverage low-code and business intelligence tools to build solutions when applicable.

The role requires close collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders including software developers, business analysts, product owners, investment professionals, internal IT staff and vendor personnel. This role will involve working in a dynamic team environment with a modern technology stack and presents opportunities to further develop industry and technical knowledge while making key contributions to the continued buildout of a leading alternative investment technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of private credit, a strong technical background and insatiable willingness to learn and contribute.

  • Undergraduate degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience as a Business Analyst. Experience in investment management or financial services is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external stakeholders, lead project prioritization discussions and drive a product vision and roadmap.
  • Quick learner with demonstrated ability to decompose large and ambiguous topics into digestible increments of scope.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and extremely thorough with strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative to resolve issues with minimal supervision and active communication.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage time and priorities under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Coachable, team-oriented individual with the ability to work well across diverse groups in a collaborative, dynamic team environment.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with a propensity to learn new applications quickly.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL with a grounded understanding of relational databases (Snowflake).
  • Exposure to business intelligence and low code applications including MS Power Platform, Sigma Computing, Looker or similar tools.
  • Experience documenting end-to-end functional, technical, reporting, and data requirements.
  • Ability to translate requirements into functional prototypes for stakeholder and developer solution validation.
  • Receptive to iterative delivery style, with a talent for communicating and adjusting to changing priorities.
  • Experience working in real estate private equity, asset management, or REITs (BA, Ops) is preferred. Experience in the following is also helpful:
    • Asset/property acquisition and disposition process
    • Portfolio management and reporting experience
    • Fund structures and investor reporting experience
    • Property-level financial performance (NOI, occupancy, leasing, cap rates, valuations)
    • Experience with (or implementation of) real estate systems: Yardi, MRI, Argus, eFront
    • Multi-country portfolio and multi-currency deal experience
    • European regulatory reporting
