To thrive as an Athletic Video Coordinator, you need expertise in videography, video editing, and a solid understanding of sports, often backed by a degree in communications or a related field. Familiarity with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro, as well as sports-specific analysis platforms like Hudl, is typically required. Professionals in Athletic Video roles often face challenges such as tight deadlines for editing and delivering game footage, coordinating with coaching staff to meet specific video analysis needs, and managing large volumes of digital content efficiently. Building strong communication skills and staying current with video technology can help address these challenges and contribute to a smooth workflow within the athletic department.
