Location: MacDill Air Force Base, FL (must live within driving distance)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 

Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

FLSA Status: Hourly, Nonexempt

Clearance: TS/SCI


Position Summary

The Aternity Performance Engineer provides design, guidance, and support for the deployment of application monitoring technologies that support our contract program operating at MacDill, AFB FL. The Aternity Performance Engineer provides knowledge and understanding of data networks, system administration, and application monitoring to the entire effort for the customers. This position works with the government, military, and other contractors to engineer, install, assess, and support the technical solution(s). This role is responsible for engineering, administration, optimization, cybersecurity compliance, and lifecycle management of Riverbed technologies excluding SteelHead WAN optimization appliances.

The purpose of this program is to provide the customer with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end-user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to the customer, and the end-user who operates around the globe 24x7x365. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the customer.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guide customers on application performance and monitoring.
  • Create custom reports and dashboards.
  • Identify trends for application performance across the enterprise.
  • Troubleshoot APM infrastructure issues.
  • Provide support for internal and external customers in an enterprise environment.
  • Support other team members in troubleshooting and project efforts.
  • Configure and install APM software.
  • Resolve support issues as they are escalated through the support tiers by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure. 
  • Create, oversee, and maintain SOPs for customers.
  • Ensure customers receive top-of-the-line support in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Monitor application performance and integrity. 
  • Maintain technical documentation as required. 
  • Suggest improvements to increase application and/or endpoint performance.
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
  • Submit regular Status Reports, as required by manager. 
  • Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least three times per week, and respond accordingly.
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Critical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Aternity, Tableau, Alluvio, Dynatrace, or similar tools.  
  • Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills are required.
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Organizational and mentoring skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, SNMP, NetFlow, sFlow.
  • Advanced knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring (APM).
  • Advanced knowledge of Network Performance Monitoring (NPM).
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows & Linux server administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of VMware or other virtualization platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Advanced knowledge of REST API integrations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Splunk, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL databases.
  • Advanced knowledge of Multi-enclave architecture support (NIPR/SIPR).

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, OR Ph.D. and 3+ years of relevant experience, OR Associate's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, OR High School diploma/GED and 12+ years of relevant experience.

Certifications, Licenses

  • Must have at least 1 of the following certifications: Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP, SecurityX / CASP+ , CCNP Security, CCSP, FITSP-O, GFACT.
  • SCSA: SolarWinds Certified Systems Administrator, highly desired but not required.
  • RCSA: Riverbed Certified Solutions Associate, highly desired but not required.

Special Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance required.

Work Environment

Employees will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
