Job description

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) has an opportunity for an experienced JWS/DIEE Instructor, located at ARAโ€™s Emerald Coast Division in Niceville, Florida. This position supports CONUS and OCONUS training of Joint Munitions Effectiveness Manuals (JMEM) software products. This position is an integral part of the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effectiveness (JTCG/ME) support for fielded weaponeering products. Applicant must be a United States citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance. This position requires a minimum of five years of experience with JTCG/ME weaponeering products.ย  Experience as a trainer (Goodfellow AFB, Joint Targeting School, Precision Fires Course, Combatant Command Qualification Course, weapons school, weapon/aircraft program offices) and/or equivalent experience in an applicable career field (e.g., Weaponeering, Targeting, Fires) is preferred. Unit level training positions also qualify.ย  Bachelorโ€™s Degree or higher is desired but may be substituted with operational experience. Applicant must be willing to travel away from home on business, up to, but not limited to, ten working days a month. Travel includes both CONUS and OCONUS locations.

JWS/DIEE Instructor Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience to JMEM air-to-surface and/or surface-to-surface weaponeering software, and/or five years of experience related to JTCG/ME target coordination mensuration and collateral damage effects estimation.
  • ย Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance; selected applicant will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment.

JWS/DIEE Instructor Required Skills:ย 

  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of fielded weaponeering products for both air-to-surface and/or surface-to-surface engagements.
  • Experience using JTCG/ME products for Intermediate and Advanced Target Development (ITD & ATD) purposes.
  • Comfortable presenting technical information to large audiences consisting of a broad base of knowledge and expertise.
  • The ability to tailor information to the appropriate level of understanding.
  • The ability to analyze operational weaponeering methodologies and understand the rigorous methods of scientific and mathematical inputs.
  • Capable of preparing written reports/briefings indicating solutions or range of possible alternatives in rank of desirability and probability of success when there is no single solution, and interfacing with customers to help define work processes.
  • Successfully complete a Government Instructor Certification Board JTCG/ME products within 60-days of hire.

Additional Consideration for:

  • Experience related to operational weaponeering, weapon systems effectiveness methodologies, target coordinate mensuration, collateral damage estimation, and database maintenance.
  • Recent experience as a military training instructor at a service targeting school or other related military course, and completion of a Joint Targeting School (JTS) accredited CDE course and a Target Mensuration Only (TMO) certification.
