Conveyor Electrician Plant Relocation Project

Location: Masonite Corporation 111 Muskin Drive, Walkerton, IN 46574
Start Date: August 8
Duration: Approximately 5 Weeks (Potential for Ongoing Travel Work)
Schedule: Straight Days | 7:30 AM Start | 1012 Hour Shifts
Pay: $32.00/hour
Per Diem: $100.00/day worked (for qualified travelers)

Position Overview

Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking experienced Conveyor Electricians for a large-scale industrial equipment relocation project at Masonite Corporation in Walkerton, Indiana. This project involves the careful dismantling and preparation of heavy manufacturing equipment for relocation. Electricians will be responsible for safely identifying, labeling, disconnecting, and removing electrical components while ensuring all equipment is prepared for successful reinstallation.

This is an excellent opportunity for electricians with industrial manufacturing, conveyor, automation, or heavy equipment experience who take pride in organized, detail-oriented work. Successful employees may have the opportunity to continue with the equipment reassembly phase at Masonite facilities throughout the country as additional projects become available.

Job Responsibilities

  • Disconnect electrical systems associated with industrial machinery and conveyor equipment.
  • Carefully label all wiring, cables, motors, sensors, and electrical components to ensure accurate reinstallation.
  • Remove electrical wiring, conduit, cable trays, and associated hardware without damaging equipment.
  • Assist with the systematic dismantling of heavy manufacturing equipment during plant relocation.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
  • Maintain organized documentation of disconnected circuits and equipment.
  • Work alongside millwrights, riggers, and mechanical crews during equipment removal.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all site-specific safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while protecting equipment during demolition activities.
  • Adhere to all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of industrial electrical experience preferred.
  • Experience with conveyor systems, manufacturing equipment, automation systems, or industrial machinery.
  • Ability to identify, label, disconnect, and remove electrical systems for relocation projects.
  • Ability to read electrical prints and wiring schematics.
  • Familiarity with motors, motor controls, sensors, VFDs, PLC-related field devices, and industrial electrical components.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work 1012 hour shifts in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation and basic electrician hand tools.
