Job description

This is a 1st shift position: 6:45 AM - 2:45 PM, $36.19/per hour
Overview:
Successfully completed apprenticeship approved by the State of Wisconsin Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards and has State of Wisconsin Journeyperson Machinist accreditation/card.
The Journeyperson Machinist repairs, constructs, adjusts and analyzes the operation of any machinery requiring machine tool equipment within the plant. Helps instruct and train Apprentices. The Journeyperson Machinist will be responsible for scheduled as well as emergency repairs, installations and inspection work that needs to be done within the manufacturing facility. The Machinist is responsible for determining the best way to make repairs to minimize interruption of production and advises when the immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary.
Duties:
  • Maintain, repair, rebuild any process or non-process equipment that requires the skills and machine tools customary to the Machinist Trade.
  • Work with Plant Engineers, Planners and Production personnel to plan, obtain materials, construct and commission components, assemblies and or whole machines used for manufacturing, materials handling, waste and by-product handling and other processes and non-process equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repair, replacement and installation of mechanical equipment
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Perform all repairs following Masonite Safety policies
  • Work safely and follow safety rules and procedures

Qualifications:
  • Must have State of Wisconsin Journeyman/Journeywoman Machinist accreditation
  • Must have a completed high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year Machinist experience

Physical Requirements:
  • Lift 1-30# frequently (up to 50% in an 8 hour day)
  • Lift 30-60# regularly (up to 30% in an 8 hour day)
  • Lift 60+# occasionally (up to 25% in an 8 hour day)
  • Push/Pull 100# with assistance seldom (up to 13% in an 8 hour day)
  • Kneel occasionally (up to 25% in an 8 hour day)
  • Squat occasionally (up to 25% in an 8 hour day)
  • Stoop frequently (up to 25% in an 8 hour day)
  • Work with extended arms seldom (up to 13% in an 8 hour day)
  • Stand in one spot for long periods
