The Care Company is looking for an awesome, self-driven Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to assist us with paediatric home care clients in the Toronto area. Specifically, we are looking for someone outgoing and engaging with previous paediatric nursing experience.

Shifts/Scheduling Needs:

  • We are looking for one nurse who can commit to the below schedule on a consistent, ongoing, weekly basis for the foreseeable future:
  • Client #1
    • Male Infant, Toronto
    • Complex care
    • Mondays-Sundays from 6pm-10pm
    • Mondays and Fridays 11pm-7am
  • Client #2:
    • Male Infant Toronto
    • Complex care
    • Wednesdays 12pm-8pm

We regularly have a need for weekend overnight nursing in the Toronto area!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medications administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
  • Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs
  • Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly
  • Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required
  • Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses
  • Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description
  • Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly

Requirements

Must have Paediatric experience with any of the following interventions:

  • G and J tube feeding **required**
  • Tracheostomy *required*
  • ventilators
  • Bi-pap or C-pap
  • Cough assist
  • Oxygenation
  • Seizure monitoring

Other requirements include:

  • Personable, outgoing personality type
  • Willing and eager to engage the client in age-appropriate play
  • Proactive personality type, someone who is willing to go the extra mile for their client
  • An asset if you own a vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)
  • Negative TB Test completed within the last year
  • CNO Registration and nursing certificate/diploma
  • COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
  • Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid/BLS certification
  • Valid WHMIS2015 certification from the last year
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
