Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of each client, whether in the comfort of their home or through teletherapy at our outpatient clinic.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at anger management, coping strategies, and social skills enhancement, focusing on reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injury and aggression.
  • Facilitate the development of decision-making skills for both adolescents and caregivers, empowering them to manage behavioral challenges at home more effectively.
  • Collaborate consistently with a multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team, sharing insights and progress to ensure a unified approach to client care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings, offering insights and suggestions to enhance service delivery and program effectiveness.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role centers around providing therapeutic support to children and adolescents aged 3-20 who face developmental disabilities and cognitive challenges. Our therapists play a crucial role in addressing the complex needs of this demographic, delivering individualized care to enhance their quality of life and foster healthy familial relationships.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
  • An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically from 4-7 pm, with weekend availability considered an asset.
  • Proficient in at least one additional language, preferably Spanish or Portuguese, to support a diverse client base.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle for community-based services.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, in compliance with state regulations.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in providing positive behavior support and effectively managing behavioral challenges.
  • Prior experience working with children and adolescents, specifically those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic methodologies and interventions suited for various developmental stages.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package is designed to support your professional and personal well-being, featuring:

  • A dynamic and supportive work environment that encourages professional development.
  • Comprehensive group health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Annual paid time off to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
  • Opportunities for ongoing job training and professional growth.
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage for peace of mind.
  • A 401(k) retirement plan to support your financial future.
