Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst with a robust background in Private Equity or similar financial industry. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical abilities, technical expertise, and a strong understanding of the financial industry, preferably in the realm of private equity. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making and drive business growth.This role requires someone who thrives in an agile, fast-paced environment and has a deep understanding
of creating data analytics and visualizations that scales with rapid business growth and change. The ideal candidate is comfortable leveraging AI tools - including Claude and Claude Code - to accelerate analysis, automate workflows, and deliver higher-quality outputs faster.
This role is for an immediate start and based in Austin, TX or Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct comprehensive data analysis to derive actionable insights and trends, enabling informed decision-making within the private equity sector.
• Financial Modeling: Design, build, and maintain data models to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and secure for various applications and stakeholders.
• Data Management: Utilize cloud data platforms like Snowflake to design, implement, and manage data solutions, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
• Data Visualization: Create and maintain interactive dashboards and printable reports using Sigma as the primary visualization layer, as well as Power BI or similar tools, for communicating complex data insights clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
• AI-Assisted Workflows: Leverage AI tools-particularly Claude and Claude Code-to automate repetitive analysis tasks, accelerate data exploration, generate and debug code, and prototype solutions more efficiently.
• Collaboration: Work closely with fund admins, investment teams, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver customized solutions.
• Data Quality: Implement data validation and quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data used in analysis and reporting.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within data analysis workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor and tune data models and report queries for optimal performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $85,000 - $125,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other components may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, with a proven track record of creating and maintaining data analytics and visualizations at scale.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Snowflake or similar data platforms for data management, and hands-on experience with Sigma for self-service analytics and dashboard development. Familiarity with Power BI or comparable tools is also valued.
• AI Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to incorporate AI tools into day-to-day work, with practical experience using Claude and/or Claude Code for data analysis, code generation, or workflow automation.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in financial modeling and statistical analysis.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools including SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Domo, and Sigma.
• Machine Learning and AI: Knowledge of machine learning and generative AI models and AI-driven products like Document AI. Experience using Claude or Claude Code in a professional context is a strong plus.
