We are seeking a Automation Team Lead. The Automation Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations, personnel coordination, and capacity planning within the automation team. This role manages efficient use of automation systems within our controlled environments, maintains operational continuity, and drives team performance through scheduling, training, and process improvement. The Team Lead serves as both a people leader and a hands-on operational backup, ensuring critical workflows are executed effectively. The successful candidate will also need to utilize and understand data, reporting, and internal data connections to advance operational effectiveness within CE.
What You'll Do:
Operations & Capacity Management
  • Manage weekly automation capacity, including space and time allocation
  • Review incoming requests using internal software, data, and Spotfire reports
  • Collaborate with partners to deliver on requests
  • Ensure alignment between demand, system throughput, and available resources

Team Scheduling & Workforce Planning
  • Develop and distribute personnel schedules
  • Track and approve employee Choice Time using PTO tracking tools
  • Balance staffing to meet operational demand and system capacity including contractor management

Team Leadership & Communication
  • Lead effective meetings to coordinate priorities and resolve issues
  • Provide clear direction and maintain alignment across team activities
  • Drive accountability for safety, performance, and operational standards
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with team members
  • Coordinate cross-training to build team capability and flexibility
  • Support succession planning and skill development across roles

Process & Compliance Management
  • Maintain and update operational protocols
  • Ensure adherence to safety and operational procedures
  • Support continuous improvement of workflows and SOPs

Key Skills & Competencies
  • Operational planning and capacity management
  • Team leadership and workforce coordination
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both strategically and hands-on
  • Technical aptitude with automation systems and HMIs
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Support troubleshooting and basic system issue resolution

What You Need:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Candidates would have a minimum of 2-5 years of related automation experience, or equivalent levels of relevant education and experience
  • Ability to work occasional weekends throughout the year
