The Centerwell Student Extern position provides medical students with supervised clinical exposure in internal medicine as part of their formal educational program.

Theexternwill work under minimal direction, withinestablisheddepartmental protocols, and will be expected todemonstrateprofessionalism and a commitment to quality care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Selected for the Kansas City University School of Osteopathic Medicine Internal Medicine Clerkship, with assignment at Centerwell Bannister Rd. at 5420 Bannister Road, Kansas City, MO 64137 .Preceptor's name: Dr. Shanna Ripley. Center Administrator's name: Antoinette Bray.
  • Eligible to work in the United States (Social Security Numberrequiredas part of the application).
  • Submission of a written attestation that you do not have a felony record (this will be provided to you upon program matching).
  • Availability for the entire rotation periodfromOctober 12 - November 8,2026and workMonday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST(4 weeks / 160 Course Hours).
  • Complete all onboarding requirements, including submission of required documentation and forms for Conviva and universityrecords.
  • Demonstrated passion for enhancing patient and consumer healthcare experiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimumcumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Active involvement in campus activities and/or community service
  • Expressed interest in a career in the healthcare industry
Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
