Job description

Avion Solutions Inc., a 100% employee-owned company, seeks candidates for an Army Aviation Engine Maintenance Specialist to support the Aviation Turbine Engines (ATE) Program Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Serve as an Army Aviation engine maintenance subject matter expert supporting the ATE Program Office, providing real-world maintainer expertise for T55 and/or T700 series engines.

  • Perform technical reviews of Maintenance Engineering Orders (MEOs), proposed technical publication changes, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), and Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs) pertaining to Army Aviation engines.

  • Support and conduct verification activities for DMWRs, technical publications, and IETMs to ensure technical accuracy, completeness, usability, and alignment with maintenance requirements.

  • Participate in internal and external logistics demonstrations and tooling checks, providing maintainer expertise and recommendations.

  • Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to identify potential logistics, maintenance, and field-level impacts.

  • Support engine safety investigations, airworthiness assessments, safety and user message development, and Technical Bulletins (TBs).

  • Research and analyze Army Aviation maintenance forms, records, and field data to identify maintenance trends, recurring issues, and potential areas of concern.

  • Provide technical recommendations and Army Aviation maintenance expertise to Government personnel and other program stakeholders.

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant Army Aviation maintenance experience preferred.

  • Prior experience as an Army 15B Aircraft Powerplant Repairer or equivalent hands-on Army Aviation engine maintenance experience.

  • Demonstrated maintenance experience with T55 and/or T700 series engines.

  • Experience reviewing and evaluating Army Aviation technical publications, technical manuals, maintenance procedures, or related technical documentation.

  • Knowledge of Army Aviation maintenance practices, processes, forms, and records, including TAMMS-A and MCDS 2410.

  • Ability to evaluate technical documentation and engineering changes from a maintainer and logistics perspective and clearly communicate identified deficiencies, impacts, and recommendations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be eligible to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.

  • Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting T55 and T700 engine maintenance at the field, sustainment, or depot level.

  • Experience conducting technical publication, IETM, or DMWR verification activities.

  • Experience supporting Army Aviation logistics demonstrations, tooling evaluations, airworthiness activities, or engine safety investigations.

  • Previous experience supporting an Army Aviation Program or Product Office.
