Join Our Team as a Die Cast Specialist!
Are you passionate about die casting and ready to elevate your career? We are eagerly looking for two motivated Die Cast Specialists to join our dynamic casting team. In this pivotal role, you will work hands-on with high pressure die casting machines and collaborate with an enthusiastic team to produce top-quality parts tailored to customer specifications. Your expertise in troubleshooting Zinc and Aluminum casting machines, setting up and changing out dies, and handling metal sampling operations will be key to your success.

Astronics-PECO, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications.
Work Schedule:
Day Shift: 7 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Swing Shift: 3 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentorship & Training: Train and guide Die Cast Trainees, Die Casters, and Senior Die Casters.
  • Process Improvement: Innovate and enhance die casting processes for better quality and cost efficiency.
  • Record Maintenance: Accurately maintain setup sheets, inspection reports, and records.
  • Machine Operation: Setup and run casting machines, trim presses, and auxiliary equipment independently.
  • Robot Programming: Setup, load, and troubleshoot programs for robots, identifying and correcting program errors.
  • Defect Troubleshooting: Diagnose and adjust processes to address casting defects with minimal assistance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering to develop new casting processes and ensure metal hygiene.
  • Equipment Monitoring: Oversee the operation of all casting machines and recommend improvements.
  • Toolroom Liaison: Coordinate tool repairs and manage Tool Repair Orders (TROs).
  • Quality Assurance: Perform metal sampling operations as required, maintain a working knowledge of NADCA guidelines, and apply Quality Standards diligently.
  • Safety: Observe safety procedures and report any unsafe conditions promptly.

Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Die Casting Expertise: 5+ years of experience in injection die casting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting casting machine programs.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of addressing practical problems with a common-sense approach.
  • Mathematical Aptitude: Proficient in basic math computations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of various units of measurement.
