Title of Position: Terminal Manager

Location: Fuquay-Varina, NC

As a Silvi Materials Terminal Manager, the primary responsibility is to ensure that RCM products and materials are delivered to customers in an efficient and timely manner.  This will be accomplished through the management of the facilities, employees, systems, and schedules associated with bulk storage and the timely loading of materials for both inside and outside customers. In addition, the Terminal Manager must have the flexibility to assist the entire team with this facility that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Important qualifications include knowledge, experience, and an appreciation of machinery, along with a strong mechanical aptitude

As an Terminal Manager, you'll be an integral part of our terminal operations team:

  • Manage bulk storage loading of outside customers.
  • Responsible for the material readiness of Silo and Dome to receive and deliver cement from our bulk handling system to our trucks and outside customers, as well as the management of outside bulk material storage (i.e. Gypsum).
  • Manage the daily responsibilities and ongoing performance of the two load-out employees.
  • Manage the following dispatch activities
  • Schedule and ensure the next day delivery of materials for bulk trucks
  • Schedule and ensure the next day delivery of materials for dump trucks.
  • Provide a weekly vehicle mileage and equipment hours report via email to Parts Manager and terminal operations manager (the hours from drivers vehicles are usually obtained on Wednesdays).
  • Conduct vehicle inspections by the 10th & 25th of each month.
  • Conduct daily, inspection of the grounds and provide a weekly report
  • Conduct  monthly environmental audits.  Reports are due the 15th of each month.
  • Conduct quarterly safety inspections. 
  • Order parts and materials and complete PO’s for purchases 
  • Maintains the highest standard of quality and safety in all areas of operations.
  • Oversees efficient operations related to personnel and scheduling.
  • Manages the schedule and performance of maintenance.
  • Ensures that the facility maintains proper stock inventories. (raw materials, machinery/vehicle parts, etc.)
  • Holds operation meetings that relate to overall goals to include: efficiency, vehicle operations, staffing, safety, environmental compliance and facility maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Supply Chain and/or Logistics highly preferred. 
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing facility, plant, factory, terminal, concrete plant, mine and/or warehouse required. 
  • Hands on experience with maintenance/machinery required. 
  • Ability to work a 50-65+ hour work week or as needed. Saturdays as needed. 
  • This person needs to have excellent and clear communication skills (bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus)
