Optic Marketing Group is looking for a Contract-to-Hire WordPress Web Designer. The ideal candidate will have an eagle eye for design details and strong conceptual skills. Candidate must have an intermediate understanding level of using WordPress.
Desired Education Associate's or Bachelor's Degree or Certificate equivalent - preferably in art, graphic design, web design, or related degree. Agency Experience preferred.
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design/ code monthly publications
  • Design/ code monthly E-newsletters
  • Website creation and maintenance,
  • Creation of new ads for our clients,
  • Web/email videos
  • Animated ads
  • Conceptual web design
  • Design/ update WordPress themes
  • UX/UI for Optic dashboard and additional future applications
  • Optic print collateral
  • Optic Trade Show Collateral
  • Social Media Collateral
  • Client social media collateral

Primary Essential Functions
The designer must have sharp details and strong conceptual skills. Candidate must have an intermediate understanding level of using WordPress. This role will produce the look and feel page layout/themes, and UI/UX functionality for Home Services websites in accordance with the individual client's overall brand.
General Supporting Functions
The designer may be asked to create: monthly publications, monthly e-newsletters, and websites including maintaining our current sites, new ads for our clients, web/email videos, programmatic and animated ads.
Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Outstanding skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, XD
  • Web design best practices experience
  • Experience creating online advertisements
  • Knowledge of user experience
  • Knowledge of web standards, optimization, and web design best practices
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • Knowledge of open-source CMS such as WordPress
  • Knowledge of website development and UI/UX basic principles
  • Familiar with Bootstrap or FLEX for responsive web design
  • Familiar with web standards and cross-platform, cross-browser issues
  • Experienced in developing and testing across multiple browsers, devices
  • Previous experience in the home service industry (bonus)
  • Previous experience in e-commerce (bonus)

Education or Prior Work Experience
  • 1-3 years working with WordPress
  • 1-3 years in web development and design
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree or Certificate equivalent - preferably in art, graphic design, web design, or related degree.
  • Previous experience working at a marketing/advertising agency
