Department: JSH Publishing and Editorial
SUMMARY
The Web Team Lead serves the mission of The Mother Church and the Journal, Sentinel, and Herald by leading the Web Team that serves Journal, Sentinel, and Herald production. The Web Team Lead will work collaboratively with the JSH Sr. and Associate Product Managers and Web Production Specialist(s) to "more effectually promot[e] and [extend] the religion of Christian Science (CSPS Deed of Trust). This includes leading the Web Team in publishing every piece of JSH digital content with excellence. The websites involved include JSH-Online, and CSPS sections of ChristianScience.com including download hub. Working closely with JSH editorial and the JSH Product Manager, the Web Production Lead ensures an accurate and user-friendly portrayal of CSPS publications. The position executes special projects overseen by the JSH Product Manager including web research, site QC, content migration, design, marketing, customer engagement, and site planning - an innovative collaboration process that introduces new online features and enhancements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the Web Team's efficient, punctual, reliable, and accurate online publishing of all JSH online and Broadcast Committee content (articles, blogs, audio/videos, etc.) using multiple platforms (e.g., eZ Publish, K4,).
  • Oversee Web Production Specialists work and assist in maintaining sound digital publishing practices (workflow and standards). Updates training manual as needed.
  • Develops and maintains schedules with editorial staff to feature site content and meet time-sensitive publication and product deadlines using multiple platforms (e.g., Trello, GoogleDocs, Slack).
  • Recommends needed enhancements and improvements based on user feedback.
  • Tests site functionality across browsers/devices to ensure the successful launch of new features.
  • Develops and executes production processes and workflows to maximize efficiency and establish smooth communication channels with in-house clients.
  • Participates as a Product/Promotion Scrum team member (up to 15% of workweek).
  • Participates in various department meetings as required.
  • Coordinate content curation for JSHO discovery features (e.g. carousel, collections, etc.)
  • Produces web promotion features (e.g. marketing carousel slides, promo boxes, Sentinel newsletter) in conjunction with Promotion and Design Services Group
  • Work with JSH Sr. Product Manager and Website Manager to execute digital strategy, new site development, improvements, and troubleshooting
  • Serve as back-up for Editorial Production Coordinator
  • Coordinate with the Customer Care Center to respond to customer feedback related to JSH-Online, CSPS broadcasting activities, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
College degree or equivalent experience. Two to five years of related professional experience.
Knowledge/Skills
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to deliver results quickly. Multi-media and copywriting skills preferred.
Technology Skills
Familiarity or ability to learn new software applications such as eZ Publish, Trello, Google Sheets, Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Cloud, Excel, and various browser-based applications. Familiarity with HTML also helpful.
Work Environment
Must be comfortable working in a team environment, be detail-oriented and inquisitive, collaborative, imaginative, self-motivated, and have ability to multi-task projects and deadlines. Must be flexible and willing to change as needed. Must enjoy hands-on work with technology.
Engagement with Christian Science
Mother Church membership required; Primary class instruction preferred.
Pay range: $76,025 - $98,832.20 annually
The pay ranges disclosed in our job postings are the compensation ranges the Church reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for a given position at the time of posting.
The offered salary will be determined by factors such as the applicant's relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities; and benchmarking, work location, and internal equity.
