Job description

As an Associate Software Engineer, you will support the development, testing, and maintenance of Lightcast's software solutions while building your technical expertise alongside experienced engineers. This role will focus on maintaining and expanding Lightcast's new marketing website, collaborating with team members around the world to create a premium web experience for current and prospective customers. This is an entry-level opportunity for a motivated engineer looking to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with software engineers to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications

  • Develop features and functionality based on project requirements and technical specifications

  • Maintain and enhance Lightcast's marketing website to deliver a high-quality customer experience

  • Participate in code reviews to support code quality, maintainability, and established coding standards

  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues

  • Learn and apply relevant programming languages, frameworks, tools, and development practices

  • Collaborate with team members across functions and global locations to deliver software projects

Education and Experience:
  • 0–2 years of professional software development experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred

  • Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, React.js/Next.js, Tailwind CSS or CSS, and HTML

  • Familiarity with GitLab or GitHub, CI/CD practices, and Agile methodologies

  • Understanding of software development principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming concepts

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript

  • Familiarity with development tools and environments, including IDEs, version control, and bug-tracking systems

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies, programming languages, and development practices

  • Internship experience, relevant coursework, or personal coding projects preferred
