Job description

Looking for a Full Stack Lead Software Engineer who enjoys working on new product development with a passion for customer experience and security.

Location
This position is not remote. The team works in the office at SEL's Boise, Idaho location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Build complex web front-end user experiences with React and Typescript.

  • Build efficient back-end business logic on an embedded platform with C# and C++.

  • Build secure APIs including REST and GraphQL.

  • Participate in the design, implementation, and test of firmware/software systems.

  • Build unit, subsystem, and complete multi-platform end-to-end automated tests.

  • Prepare and maintain design, code, and test documentation.

  • Mentor other engineers.

  • Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

  • Typically, 7+ years of experience:

  • React and Typescript customer-facing web applications

  • Security standards such as OWASP and API hardening

  • C# or Java preferred

  • Object-oriented principles and design patterns

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL

Preferred Qualifications
  • Expert level in C# or Java

  • Expert level with React and Typescript

  • Expertise with full-stack automated testing including Selenium or Playwright

  • Embedded system experience on a Linux-based platform

  • Familiarity with containers

  • Familiarity with Visual Studio Code

  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL

  • Familiarity with C++

  • Experience with greenfield development

Pay Range Data
Lead Power Engineer $115,300 - $170,400
We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job and responsibility. We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
