Job description

Overview
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) I is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with end-user customers and distributor partners to drive sales and expand market reach. The ASM I must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of the Cleanroom market, including distribution channels. The ASM I must be adept at managing multiple accounts, identifying new sales opportunities, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
  • Implements sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets according to business unit objectives. Identifies new prospects and opportunities to increase market share.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with customers and distributor partners. Works closely to understand their needs and aligns actions accordingly.
  • Maintains a deep understanding of the Cleanroom product line and effectively communicates product benefits and features to customers.
  • Travels frequently within designated territory to meet with customers and conduct sales presentations. Manages travel logistics effectively, including scheduling and coordination of meetings and events.
  • Prepares and delivers compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations to end-user customers, distributor partners, and key stakeholders. Utilizes sales and marketing tools (e.g., Highspot) to craft customer-centric content.
  • Gathers market information within the sales territory to identify trends, assesses the competitive landscape, and understands customer needs. Shares verbal and written insights with management and key support teams (i.e., Product Management, Marketing, Research & Development, and Technical Services).
  • Provides exceptional support to end-user customers and distributor partners. Addresses issues or concerns promptly and ensures a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Utilizes Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to maintain accurate and current records of sales activities, pipeline statuses, and customer interactions. Prepares and submits regular reports on sales performance and market trends.
  • Participates and works within ISO 9001 quality standards and guidelines in accordance with Contec's quality goals.
  • Others may be assigned.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BA. or BS.) from a four-year accredited college or university; three (3) to five (5) years of industry-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements (i.e., EPA, FDA, ISO) is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to learn and become proficient in Contec's CRM system (C2) is required.
• Previous experience working within Cleanroom, or another regulated industry, is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience working within CRM systems is also strongly preferred.

Associates performing the duties of this job are regularly in office settings, either at home or at customers' facilities where the noise level is quiet to moderate. Occasionally, the associate may
be exposed to a manufacturing environment while working at a customer site where the noise level may be moderate to loud. In this environment, the associate may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and may be required to don personal protective equipment (PPE) per site protocols.
Up to 75% business travel, including overnight travel, may be required in any given year.
