Experience: Minimum of 1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general and critical care preferred, 2+ years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care preferred.
License: Current State of Wisconsin License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required within 12 months of hire. BLS-NRP required.
Must-Have:
Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program
Description:
A Respiratory Care Practitioner performs designated Respiratory Care and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures.
These actions are in the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system.
Respiratory Care services include therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing performed with medical gases and equipment, environmental control systems, humidification, and aerosols.
This role involves the administration of medications to the cardiopulmonary system.
Ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems, is also a critical component of this role.
Bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises are performed, along with patient education and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Maintenance of natural and artificial airways is necessary.
These procedures are performed in both critical care and non-critical care areas on patients of all ages.
Responsibilities include performing job duties in alignment with organizational mission and values.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
