Job description

Join our team as a Test Engineering Technician at Astronics AES in Redmond, WA. 2nd shift works Monday - Thursday, 3:00 pm - 1:30 am. Note: You will train on 1st shift prior to moving to 2nd shift.

JOB SUMMARY The Test Engineering Technician will build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems while applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, and electronic and electrical testing. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs electrical, mechanical or software troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning test equipment.

Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.

Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts. Perform preventive maintenance of test fixtures, cables, thermal chambers, vibration systems and a variety of other equipment Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment May perform equipment modifications as directed by test/manufacturing engineers. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment and ordering standard parts.

Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of electro-mechanical systems, and specialized test equipment. Assists in the construction, test and check-out of test equipment, may include documentation markup. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.

May be required to train Production Test Technicians Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: Associate degree (AS) in Electronics Technology or related field/ equivalent electronics military schooling and experience required *High-power electronics and/or high-power avionics technician experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Total qualifying experience must meet the years, duties, skills and proficiency required to perform the position level standards.

Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of test equipment and services Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

Systems Analysis - Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes Time Management (Of self) - Effectively manage own time to be able to complete a job on time as scheduled. Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

Employment is contingent upon the employee's authorization to access such items under applicable law

The company does not guarantee and is under no obligation to seek such authorization if it would be necessary. An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing pre-employment background check and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis. Base salary range for this position is $31.76 - $47.64 per hour

Mid-point is $39.70. 2nd shift pays an additional $2.00/hour shift differential.
