Exempt-Summary

This position coordinates all aspects of testing from test design to test implementation and reporting with engineering and operations. Test programs typically involve full scale fatigue and static evaluations of aircraft interior components and assemblies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties as assigned:

  • Provide test fixture and tooling concepts to designers for detailed design, provide direction to test technicians for test set-ups, instrumentation, and data acquisition support test and integration of actuation systems, and represent testing at design reviews and technical coordination meetings.
  • Generate test plans and test reports and liaison with stress engineering, design, procurement, program management and production.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with development, procurement, installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices required to test, record, and reduce test data.
  • Directs and exercises control over operational, functional, and performance phases of tests.
  • Confers with engineering, and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data and data interpretation.
  • Assists in the analysis and interpretation of test data and prepares technical reports for use by engineering and management personnel.
  • Uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on mechanical and products and systems.
  • Design and assemble test process with direction from stress engineers or supervising test engineer.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • A good test and development background mainly in mechanical-structures and components.
  • This position requires application of all Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering disciplines to a wide variety of technical problems.
  • BS degree Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Engineering field (2 years’ experience) or equivalent working experience (6 years minimum in an aerospace related field). Non-engineering BS + 3 years minimum in an aerospace related field or AA (Associate in Arts and Sciences) degree + 4 years minimum in an aerospace related field are also acceptable.


Moderate travel within the U.S. and abroad may be required to support JAMCO America programs.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
