Job description

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Technical Sales Associate is to manage bid lists, secure plans and specifications, generate take-offs and project estimates, provide technical sales support for both the Outside Sales team and contractors, and manage projects to ensure profit targets are achieved.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

โ€ข Obtain and review project plans and specifications to determine the specific products and services to be included in a binding estimate per established guidelines
โ€ข Obtain special quotations from manufacturers, as required, while maintaining competitive pricing levels and maximizing gross margins
โ€ข Coordinate prior approval requests with the engineering services department
โ€ข Populate job tracking systems with pertinent information, including basis of design information, quote values, etc.
โ€ข Prepare complete and accurate engineering submittals for products being ordered
โ€ข Answer application and technical questions, as well as general customer service inquiries, from mechanical contractors
โ€ข Prepare and generate orders to manufacturers for products associated with awarded projects
โ€ข Manage logistics to ensure product arrives at the job site as required
โ€ข Maintain proper margin levels and job accuracy to ensure projects are billed correctly
โ€ข Partner with the Outside Sales team and keep them informed regarding product availability, shipping schedules, and overall job status
โ€ข Maintain regular and punctual attendance
โ€ข Work cooperatively with others
โ€ข Comply with all company policies and procedures
โ€ข Maintain regular, punctual, and reliable attendance and availability
