Job Description:

  • Perform technical writing in support of all phases of Technical Order (TO) sustainment and development

  • Research technical data, organize ideas, and use clear communication skills to document procedural content

  • Work with engineers to translate engineering concepts and actions into clear and concise TO content

  • Convert MSWord-based or non-editable technical data into Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) TO manuals

  • Incorporate Air Force (AF) TO Forms 22 and 252 redline change requests into legacy TOs

  • Incorporate approved internal and external review comments into legacy TOs

  • Workin accordance withAF TO requirements, DoD MIL-STDs, and SENSOR Internal Operating Procedures (IOP), Joint Internal Operating Procedures (JIOP), and other contractor-specific internal processes

Essential Functions:

  • Design, analyze, modify, test and evaluate optical systems.
  • Employ modeling tools, perform laboratory experimentations.
  • Ability to operate all optical related equipment to successfully execute tasks to include data reductions, evaluation of result, and delivery/presentation to audience
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
  • Perform simulations and present design reviews to peer engineers.
  • Work with a technical leader on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and ensure successful outcome through program milestones.

Qualifications:

  • To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing aBachelor's degree in Technical Writing, or a related field, or have completed their Bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

Preferred Skills:

  • AF TO development and sustainment writing experience

  • SGML tagging environment writing experience

  • Familiarity with AF TO requirements and DoD MIL-STDs for technical orders and manuals

  • Redlining PDF files using Adobe Professional

The salary range for this role in Colorado state is $48,500 - $90,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
