Job Title

Technical Project Manager I.

Seeking a Technical Project Manager I to join our fantastic team at Asahi Kasei Bioprocess. In this role, you will manage technical projects from initial scoping to product launch / installation at customer sites. Projects will include custom, standard, and design and development projects for chromatography, dilution, filtration, synthesis and other downstream process equipment. The Technical Project Manager I will own and be responsible for their projects’ success and outcomes.

8pm - 5pm or 7am to 4pm M-F

Onsite - Glenview, IL

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional teams through gated processes for design, development, manufacture, testing, and release.
  • Create project schedules and monitor budgets.
  • Track current milestone targets and completion dates.
  • Identify risks and build contingency as required.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding project activities, expected deliverables, and required timelines: e.g. Engineering, Design, Assembly, Automation, Quality, Sales, Accounting, Logistics, Management.
  • Build and maintain a relationship with the Customer.
  • Engage them throughout the project with a high focus on customer service.
  • Manage Customer expectations and onsite Customer visits.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Manage project changes and non-conformances using approved company procedures; communicate with the customer as required.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings: construct agendas, create PowerPoint presentations, document minutes/decisions/action items, facilitate/moderate meetings, and when necessary resolve conflicts.
  • Manage project documentation: document submittals, equipment punch lists, lessons learned, crating/shipping checklists.
  • Confirm material orders, track delivery status, and communicate with vendors as needed for clarification/issue resolution.
  • Manage project scope and communicate clearly with the customer when new scope is requested and change order may be required.
  • Contribute to project technical decision-making as necessary to supplement and support the project engineer.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Strong leadership and communication skills are a must.
  • The Technical Project Manager I should be optimistic, flexible, and collaborative.
  • Able to prioritize tasks in an environment with competing resources and projects.
  • Adept at communicating deadlines firmly while maintaining departmental and individual buy-in and engagement.
  • The Technical Project Manager I must endure adversity and thrive in problem-solving situations.
  • Must be committed to Quality and Safety and foster an environment of trust and respect.
Minimum Requirements
  • BS in engineering required.
  • 2+ years of Project Management experience required.
  • Fluid Management or Bioprocess experience preferred.
  • Quick learner with high energy and excellent time management.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, ERP (Business Central) and experience with project management software, ClickUp preferred.
  • Interest in PMP certification, certification in progress a plus.
  • Very detail-oriented and persistent.
  • Highly organized with strong delegation skills.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

Travel up to 15% to customer sites for project meetings, domestic and international.

Compensation

The base compensation range for this role is $75,000-$85,000.

Base Compensation is influenced by many factors including, but not limited to: time in the role, previous experience, skills, knowledge, performance, work requirements, internal equity, and business / economic conditions.
