What Your Impact Is

As a Managing Technical Consultant, Environmental Permitting / Due Diligence Project Manager, you'll be at the forefront of ERM's Capital Project Delivery (CPD) service line, driving environmental permitting and due diligence for major capital projects. Your leadership will ensure that technology sector infrastructure developments meet environmental standards while advancing sustainability goals. You'll influence decisions at the highest level, collaborate with global experts, and deliver solutions that balance innovation with environmental stewardship.

What You'll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, environmental science, biology/ecology, planning, program management, or a related field. Or equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in environmental permitting and/or due diligence.

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and lead multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing technical reports and presenting to clients.

  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships and thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment.

  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred:

  • Experience with permitting timelines, risk identification, and mitigation strategies.

  • Technical skills in wildlife or ecological surveys (e.g., wetland delineations, wildlife assessments).

  • Familiarity with air quality permitting and multi-media regulatory compliance programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental risk evaluations, permitting, and approvals for technology infrastructure and major capital projects.

  • Identify permitting requirements during site acquisition and due diligence processes.

  • Manage regulatory agency interactions and develop mitigation strategies for environmental risks.

  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering partners on conceptual master planning.

  • Communicate environmental requirements to diverse stakeholders, including legal, real estate, design, and sustainability teams.

  • Oversee preparation of reports, permitting documents, and environmental reviews at federal and state levels.

  • Serve as project manager, technical expert, and QA/QC reviewer to ensure quality and compliance.

  • Drive business development through proposal preparation and client relationship management.

  • Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, and health & safety protocols.

  • Work across ERM's global network to share best practices and deliver exceptional results.

For the Managing Technical Consultant, Environmental Permitting / Due Diligence Project Manager position, the anticipated annual base pay is $90,000 - $124,245 USD. Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, AD&D insurance, 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP, and other applicable benefits to eligible employees.
