Summary:

An independent contributing IT Professional providing senior engineer level technical and group support within the Platform Systems Engineer family developing and applying technical proficiency in three or more IT disciplines that support Cook Children's platform infrastructure. This includes technology disciplines in Citrix, Microsoft, VMware, Nutanix, and Ivanti suite of products along with a skilled level of Windows server and desktop engineering and administration. Capacity planning, research emerging technologies, budgeting, private and public cloud infrastructure, making design decisions, and supporting Epic Client design and delivery. This position requires being a project resource for the Platform Team and Information Services projects. The Senior Platform Systems Engineer position will be assisting and interacting with many customers requiring good communication, customer service and problem resolution skills. This role provides consulting services to Information Services teams and/or customers regarding technologies and the application of specific technology standards. The Senior position assists Platform staff and other Information Services Professionals. Jobs in this family are responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, installing, and/or deploying technologies including systems, networks, data architectures, capacity planning, performance management, security, configuration management, and disaster recovery. In addition, a Senior Engineer contributes to the establishment, development, and promotion of standard architectures, as well as hardware and software components that are used in the data center, cloud and user environments.

Qualifications:

  • Position requires a Bachelor's degree and 4 years of direct IT experience or an Associate's degree and 6 years of direct IT experience or 8 years of direct IT experience and high school diploma or equivalent. BA/BS degree in IS or Business preferred.

Certifications/Licensure:

Acquired one or more of the below Information Technology certifications is required, or must obtain within six (6) months of employment -

Microsoft: MCSE, MCITP, MCP, MCDST or MCTS

Microsoft Azure: Administrator, Solutions Architect, Virtual Desktop

AWS: SysOps Administrator, Solutions Architect

Google: Cloud Engineer, Cloud Architect Citrix: CCA-V, CCP-V or CCE-V

VMware: VCA, VCP or VCAP

IGEL: Certified Professional or Engineer

CompTIA: A+, Server+, Network+ or Cloud+ Required
