TITLE: Associate Control Systems Engineer
LOCATION: Bedford Park, IL (Argo Plant)
REPORTS TO: Manager, Control System Engineering
Workplace Type: Onsite
Ingredion is hiring an Associate Control Systems Engineer, which is an Entry-Level position that will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to design, implement, and maintain automation systems using DeltaV and Rockwell platforms to support of plant production, quality, GMP and safety goals. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals to develop their skills in a challenging manufacturing environment.
What you will do:
  • Ensure the instrumentation, control systems, and documentation can support the quality and production goals of the assigned unit(s) in the plant to meet business needs.
  • Support the configuration, programming, and troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, and distributed control systems.
  • Identify and implement improvements of instrumentation/control systems and support effective plant operations.
  • Maintain knowledge continuity through specific subject matter expertise in an element of the site control system.
  • Participate in control systems lifecycle planning to ensure continued support and fit for use as they approach obsolescence.
  • Develop a professional skillset to enable improved process efficiency and control system reliability.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies that strengthen plant operations and share best practices across teams and facilities.

Who you are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Internship or co-op experience in industrial automation or a related field.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
  • Understanding of DeltaV, Rockwell Automation, or microcontroller systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text).

$69,800.00-$93,066.67 Annual
This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation:
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
