Job Title: Business Analyst with Cloud Migration

Location: Minneapolis, MN Hybrid

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Cloud Migration expertise to support enterprise cloud transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and project managers to gather requirements, analyze existing systems, and facilitate migration from on-premise environments to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for cloud migration projects.
  • Conduct current-state and future-state analysis for applications, infrastructure, and business processes.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams during migration planning and execution.
  • Create BRD, FRD, user stories, workflows, process maps, and gap analysis documentation.
  • Coordinate data migration, system integration, UAT, and post-migration validation activities.
  • Support migration strategies including rehosting, replatforming, and modernization initiatives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and requirement-gathering sessions.
  • Monitor project risks, dependencies, timelines, and migration deliverables.
  • Work in Agile/Scrum environments using Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and cloud best practices.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Strong experience in Cloud Migration projects (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with on-prem to cloud migration initiatives.
  • Knowledge of cloud services, cloud architecture, and migration methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, data analysis, and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Visio, Lucidchart, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform migration projects.
  • Knowledge of ETL, data warehousing, APIs, and system integrations.
  • Experience in BFSI, Telecom, Healthcare, or Retail domains.
  • Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or Google Cloud Platform Associate Cloud Engineer are preferred.
  • Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Hadoop to AWS/Snowflake migration.
  • Exposure to SaaS migrations and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
