Job description

Company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented IT Support and System Administrator to join our team. As an IT Support and System Administrator, you will manage, maintain and optimize our IT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Office 365 and other Microsoft cloud services to ensure seamless and secure operations of our IT systems.   The IT Support and System Administrator role requires a balance of technical expertise, end-user support, and collaboration with various business units to ensure our IT systems align with organizational needs and objectives.  Some of the position objectives include:

  • Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software
  • Track and maintain hardware and software inventory

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Helpdesk / End-User Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests (hardware, software, network issues)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tickets related to desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Provision and deprovision user accounts (Active Directory, email, SaaS platforms)
  • Install, configure, and maintain end-user systems and applications
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and procedures in the ticketing system
  • Provide basic user training and support for common tools and systems

 

Systems Administration Support

  • Assist with administration of servers (Windows/Linux), virtualization, and cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS, M365)
  • Monitor system performance, backups, and alerts; escalate issues when necessary
  • Support patch management, updates, and system maintenance activities
  • Maintain user permissions, group policies, and security configurations
  • Assist in network troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, VPN, connectivity issues)
  • Participate in system upgrades, deployments, and IT projects

 

 

Security & Compliance

  • Follow IT security policies and best practices
  • Assist with endpoint protection, MFA, and access controls
  • Identify and report potential security risks or incidents
  • Support audits, documentation, and compliance efforts

 

Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Maintain internal documentation for systems, processes, and troubleshooting guides
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions
  • Contribute to improving helpdesk workflows and automation

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
  • Administrator proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications and tools
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory and Group Policy Management
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide resolutions
  • Prior experience providing Help Desk support

·         5+ years of experience in a systems administrator role.

·         5+ years of experience with Microsoft Entra, Intune and Autopilot

·         5+ years of experience with RMM and MDM

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Platform, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Security & Compliance Center, Office, and OneDrive for Business.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Intune MDM, Azure AD, SSO and Identity Management
  • Knowledge of PowerShell, LDAP, transfer protocols, API's and troubleshooting dataflows.
  • Experience with Acumatica and SITETRACKER.
  • Familiarity with application monitoring tools, reviewing log files, and be available on occasion for off hours emergency support for critical applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of Office365 licensing, features, and policy.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting is a plus.
  • Knowledge base of Office 365 technical architecture and the interdependencies with other enterprise services in O365/Azure technology stack.
  • Experience developing technical solutions using O365 Suite of products.
  • Experience with Identity and Conditional Access design and implementation.
  • Experience with implementation/configuration of Office 365 messaging and collaboration tools.
  • Implementation of advanced functions of Office 365 Security and Compliance center, Microsoft.
  • Federation Integration with Office 365, Azure, and Identity Management
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent time management skills and strong ability to prioritize
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
  • Experience with integration of multiple business platforms such as Acumatica, ESRI, ADP Sitetracker and others.
  • Familiarity with enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and systems performance monitoring
  • Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking
