For the past forty-five plus years, we have supported Department of Defense customers by developing innovative remote sensing algorithms, tools, and techniques to deliver world-class data exploitation capabilities supporting missile defense; intelligence, surveillance, & reconnaissance; space domain awareness; and aircraft survivability missions.

SciTecΒ has an immediate on-site opportunity in Boulder, Colorado for a talented Python Software Developer to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software. You will work within a fast-paced team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence. You will develop modern Python applications for data processing, deployed to our customer and industry partner sites. Our ideal candidate is a well-rounded, experienced software engineer who works well as a part of a team, prioritizes the quality of their product, and seizes opportunities to be creative, learn, and grow as a developer.Β 

ResponsibilitiesΒ 

    • Develop Python applications in unclassified and classified environments.Β 
    • Contribute to the improvement of various Python tools surrounding our machine learning/modeling/simulation efforts.Β 
    • Execute tasks that require familiarity with development tools, including Git, Docker images, virtual environments, etc.Β 
    • Complete tasks with minimal direction.Β 
    • Work as part of an Agile software development team.Β 
    • Other duties as assigned.Β 

Requirements

The following minimum qualifications areΒ requiredΒ for the position:Β 

    • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or physical sciencesΒ 
    • Academic or Professional experience with Python 3.6 or laterΒ 
    • Experience with libraries such asΒ Numpy,Β Scipy, Pandas,Β PlotlyΒ 
    • Experience with object relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL,Β etc) or experience with Dash and/or Flask web applicationsΒ 
    • A general knowledge of data structures and algorithmsΒ 
    • A working knowledge of object-oriented design patternsΒ 
    • Academic or Professional experience using Linux operating systems, including bash scripting and related conceptsΒ 
    • The ability to obtain andΒ maintainΒ a DoD security clearanceΒ 
    • Good verbal and written communication skillsΒ 

Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred:Β 

    • Familiarity with Python coding standards (PEP8, etc.)Β 
    • Experience with packaging and deploying Python modules & packages usingΒ pipenvΒ orΒ uvΒ
