Associate Staff Accountant

Job Summary

The Associate Staff Accountant supports the finance and accounting team by performing daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with monthend and yearend close processes. This role is ideal for someone detailoriented, analytical, and eager to grow within an accounting function.

Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies (TBCT) is a global leader in blood component technologies, with annual revenues of approximating $1.5B.  TBCT participates on a global basis in all aspects of the business, including research and development, manufacturing, sales, and marketing of blood component technologies.  The parent company is Terumo Corporation, a global medical devices company headquartered in Japan and traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, with annual revenues approximating $6 billion.

Essential Duties

  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Assist with monthend and yearend close activities to support timely financial reporting
  • Generate intercompany and intergroup manual invoices for shared services
  • Assist in the documentation of Japan Sarbanes-Oxley (JSOX) internal controls
  • Participate in special projects and crossfunctional initiatives as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required with sufficient experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience (internships or academic experience welcome)
  • SAP Experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices
  • Selfdirected, highly motivated, and proactive in taking initiative
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team orientation, and eagerness to learn
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to develop, manipulate, and maintain spreadsheets

Target Pay Range:  $37.00 to $47.00 -  Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
