Job Title: Mid-Level Java Developer
Location: Fully onsite in Austin TX
Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension
About the job:
As a Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and supporting scalable enterprise applications. You will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle, translating complex business requirements into robust, high-performing software solutions. This role requires a strong technical foundation in backend Java development, front-end integration, and database architecture. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design systems, model data, and optimize application functionality in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based software applications in accordance with strict project requirements and specifications.
Own the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure the reliable delivery of high-quality software releases.
Architect and construct Database Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD) models to support complex application features.
Create detailed software design documentation and conduct peer code reviews to maintain engineering standards.
Troubleshoot system issues, resolve bugs, and perform the periodic maintenance tasks required for ongoing application health and performance.
Minimum qualifications:
Associate's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of software development experience using Java.
5 years of experience with SQL and SQL query performance tuning.
Experience with the full JEE stack (Core Java, JDBC, JSP/Servlets) and configuring the Spring Framework.
Experience with relational database management systems (Oracle and MS-SQL), including writing PL/SQL and stored procedures.
Experience handling large databases and high data volumes.
Experience with front-end web technologies, including JavaScript, jQuery, and HTML5.
Experience with version control, build, and issue tracking tools (Git, SVN, Maven, Gradle, Jira).
Preferred qualifications:
Experience designing and integrating SOAP or RESTful Web Services.
Experience developing scalable, enterprise-level JEE applications.
Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and advanced performance tuning practices.
Expertise in data modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical model design.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to author comprehensive software design and engineering documentation.
