Typical qualifications for the career include a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field and relevant technical experience with software applications. You also need excellent communication, coding, and analytical problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a team.

Senior Software Engineer - Support Systems

Nayax

Schenectady, NY • On-site

$125K/yr

Full-time

Posted 27 days ago

Job description

Join us at Nayax, a global fintech leader (NASDAQ; TASE: NYAX) revolutionizing the world of cashless payments, consumer engagement, and business management solutions. With more than 1,200 employees across 13 offices worldwide. At Nayax, you’ll be part of a diverse and innovative community where your work makes a real impact and helps shape the future of payments.

We're not looking to fill a seat — we're looking for a rockstar Senior Software Engineer - Support Systems who can build the tooling and platforms our support org runs on, and become the go-to expert on how support actually gets done here.

In this role, you'll design and build the internal tools and platforms that make front-line and escalated support possible — real software, not spreadsheets — while acting as the subject-matter expert on support practices across the team.

The Senior Software Engineer - Support Systems reports directly to the Director of Software.

This role requires working onsite from our Schenectady, NY office five days per week.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design, build, and maintain the internal tools and platforms that power our support organization — diagnostics, dashboards, automation, whatever the team actually needs
  • Act as the subject-matter expert on support practices — how issues get triaged, escalated, and resolved, and where the process itself needs to improve
  • Partner directly with the support and engineering teams to identify tooling gaps before they become bottlenecks
  • Own the reliability and usability of whatever you ship — you build it, you support it
  • Continuously improve support tooling based on real usage and feedback from the team on the ground

Learn More about Nayax:

Founded in 2005, Nayax is a global fintech leader providing end‑to‑end payment, consumer engagement, and business management solutions. We help businesses grow revenue, reduce operational complexity, and deliver seamless commerce experiences across unattended, self‑service, and retail environments.

With support for 80+ payment methods across 50+ currencies, a European payment institution license, and strategic partnerships with leading global financial institutions, Nayax enables secure, scalable, and future‑ready commerce worldwide.

Operating across 120+ countries with 1,200+ employees in 13 global offices, Nayax combines innovative technology with real‑world impact. At Nayax, we build long‑term value through smart automation, loyalty solutions, and an agile ecosystem designed to scale with our customers - and our people.

Requirements:

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • At least 4+ years of Real hands-on software engineering experience with Node.js — must. you've shipped things, not just prototyped them
  • Hands-on experience building AI tools and solutions using LLMs, AI agents, or AI-powered automation frameworks — must.
  • Genuine interest in support practices and operations — you want to make the support team's job easier, not just write code in a vacuum
  • Comfortable owning a build end-to-end, from idea to something the team relies on daily
  • A track record of building and scaling support tooling/platforms at a high-growth company before — you've done this at scale, not for the first time

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience building internal tools or platforms for a support or customer-ops team
  • Familiarity with EV charging, unattended payment, or IoT hardware support
  • Experience with observability/monitoring tooling — dashboards, alerting, diagnostics
  • Scripting or automation experience to speed up support workflows
  • Experience building AI agent ecosystems — multi-agent orchestration, tool-use, or LLM-powered automation

Compensation and Benefits

  • The base salary range for this position is $ 90,000-$125,000 per year
  • Eligibility for an annual performance bonus and additional benefits.
  • Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

Why Join Nayax

  • Make a tangible impact by building tools that are used across a global support organization.
  • Take ownership from day one and see your work drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers, product leaders, and support experts across the company.
  • Work in a high-growth environment where your ideas can quickly become reality.
  • Be part of a global fintech leader transforming how people pay, engage, and do business.
