About the Role

iWorQ is looking for a highly technical Quality Assurance Engineer to join our on-site development team in Logan, Utah. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong software development background who are passionate about building high-quality web applications.

Our most successful QA Engineers understand not just how to test software but how it's built. You'll work closely with developers, contribute to code reviews, build automation frameworks, and play a key role in improving both product quality and engineering processes.

Responsibilities:

Advanced Test Strategy & Execution

  • Develop comprehensive test plans aligned with product requirements and engineering architecture
  • Design and execute detailed test cases, including edge cases and failure scenarios
  • Perform manual and automated testing across:
    • Functional and integration layers
    • UI/UX workflows
    • Performance and load conditions
    • Security and vulnerability surfaces

Automation & Technical Contribution

  • Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts
  • Integrate testing into CI/CD workflows where possible
  • Review developer pull requests and provide technical QA feedback

Defect Management

  • Identify, document, and prioritize defects with clear reproduction steps
  • Partner with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently

Cross-Platform Testing

  • Ensure compatibility across browsers, devices, and operating systems
  • Validate consistency of user experience across environments

Performance & Security Testing

  • Conduct performance testing under varying loads and network conditions
  • Execute security-focused testing to identify vulnerabilities

Collaboration with Engineering

  • Work closely with developers, designers, and product managers
  • Provide feedback on system design, usability, and technical implementation
  • Act as a quality advocate throughout the development lifecycle

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve QA processes and testing efficiency
  • Stay current on modern testing tools, frameworks, and best practices


Required Qualifications

  • Background in Software Development, Computer Science, or related technical field
    (degree or equivalent hands-on experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience testing web-based applications
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with manual and automated testing methodologies
  • Ability to read and understand code (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or similar)
  • Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
