The Associate Software Development Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software applications. This role focuses on learning and applying foundational software development skills under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Code Development:
    • Write, test, and debug basic software code according to task specifications.
  • Code Reviews:
    • Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and improve code quality.
  • Documentation:
    • Responsible for creating supporting documentation associated with assigned tasks.
  • Internal Collaboration:
    • Work in teams, communicate effectively with peers and management.
  • Learning:
    • Engage in ongoing professional development to improve technical skills and stay updated with latest technology trends.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Technical Competencies 

  • Programming Languages: Basic proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., C#, .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XSLT) and devOps practices. Familiarity with software development lifecycle.
  • Version Control: Understand and familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), IDEs and basic knowledge of web application security principles.
  • Testing: Knowledge of basic testing methods, unit testing, and tools.
  • Debugging: Ability to debug code using browser developer tools (for front-end) or using breakpoints and logging in back-end code. Ability to identify and resolve simple software issues.
  • Basic foundational knowledge and skills related to the role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in teams, communicate effectively with peers, seniors and management.
  • Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and tools, as well as staying updated with the latest trends.
