As a member of the Fulfillment Strategy & Operations (FSO) organization in R&D at SAS, you will contribute to a dynamic team responsible for defining software for use in internal systems from testing through delivery to external customers. Duties include analysis of planned deliverables for new and existing products, assessment of readiness for recurring delivery cadences, evaluation of cross-system and business impacts. As a Sr. Associate Software Developer, you will:
  • Analyze planned product and platform changes to identify potential risks, dependencies, and business impacts across the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, testing, and fulfillment teams to ensure implementations meet functional requirements, align with R&D standards, and accurately support intended functionality and customer experience.
  • Implement and maintain data configurations and targeted technical solutions that enable consistent testing, validation, and release outcomes aligned with recurring delivery cadences.
  • Design and develop high quality, testable and scalable software solutions to support automation, remediation, enablement, and readiness initiatives, while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
  • Participate in project planning, scoping and scheduling activities; track work and proactively communicate risks, issues, and changes that may impact delivery commitments.
  • Ensure solution quality and full lifecycle ownership by performing functional, unit, and performance testing, reviewing test plans, driving updates to data, configuration, and code, while maintaining clear documentation for internal and external consumers.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.
  • Be encouraged to participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
  • Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity, and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do.

Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in software development, systems analysis, testing or data analysis
  • Programming experience in Go, Python, Perl, React, or similar (RESTful API experience preferred).
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and familiarity with SAS programming language.
  • Familiarity with software development tools and environments, including Git/GitHub and Unix operating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze systems, troubleshoot issues, and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
